Do you need a license to do acupressure if you are a chiropractor?

I am curious because I am considering become a Chiropractor, and right now I am learning acupressure. I wonder if you need a seperate license as a massage therapist? Or is it legal without a license because you are already licensed to use physical contact to treat people, and forcing you to get another license is redudant? Obviously, you would have to get a massage therapy education as well, but I am curious of the licensing aspect. Thanks for reading!

Got something to say?

I would think that accupressure falls under the scope of a massage therapist’s licensure (where required). Same for a DC…
However, for more invasive procedures, such as accuPUNCTURE, some sort of certification is usually required depending on your state laws. It’s not always a separate licensure, but some type of certificate is usually required.
